TORONTO, ON - (April 3, 2008) – The United Nations (“UN”) has awarded to Comtrex Communications a contract to supply public safety related products to support the UN mission in Haiti.
“Qualifying to supply the UN with products represents a new milestone for Comtrex. The UN procurement process is extremely stringent and requires their suppliers to have a proven track record of government sales and support. This award is a further testament to Comtrex’s ability to supply quality products at competitive prices on an international playing field” said Martine Cardozo, Director of Sales & Marketing at Comtrex Communications.
The UN Haiti mission was established in September 1993 with a $320M budget to help implement provisions of the Governors Island Agreement of 3 July 1993. The mandate was later revised to enable the Mission to assist the democratic Government to sustain a stable environment, professionalize the armed forces and create a separate police force, and establish an environment conducive to free and fair elections.
